Join us for the first installment of the Food Justice Salon Series! It's time to begin to change the way we think about food as something somehow separate or distinct from socioeconomic concerns Access to food is a basic human right, and should not be dependent on class or economic interests. This new ongoing discussion series is the brainchild of M. Holden Warren, founder of Food Rescue Baltimore, an organization that is dedicated to food justice: ensuring equal access to nutritious food, and providing for those in need in Baltimore's communities. We'll be meeting every third Wednesday of the month, so don't fret if you miss one. We'll catch you next time!
For our innagural progam we'll be discussing Food Waste Redistribution as a method of empowering underserved communities and spreading equanimity across our city through the work of Food Rescue Baltimore and Food Not Bombs Baltimore. Keynote speakers will be followed by a musical interlude, a brief discussion, and thematically appropriate cocktails will be available for purchase.
