An Afternoon of Asimov

Join the Pratt Library for an afternoon in celebration of the work of legendary science fiction writer Isaac Asimov.

Presented in partnership with the Jewish Museum of Maryland.

Isaac Asimov is one of the most important and prolific science fiction writers of all time. His body of work has led the way for generations of science fiction writers, filmmakers and more. This virtual event, presented jointly between the Jewish Museum of Maryland and Enoch Pratt Free library, will feature both a community reading of two of Asimov's most popular short stories and a presentation by Alec Nevala Lee which will help us better understand Asimov himself and his works.

Join Hugo nominated author Alec Nevala-Lee for a discussion of the significance of two of Asimov’s most well-known short stories. We will explore themes and interpretations of the pieces and how they reflect Asimov’s beliefs on faith, technology, and science. Nevala-Lee will also provide insight into Asimov’s life, career, and how his legacy has evolved over the last century.
